Fructose: Uncovering the Root of Metabolic Dysfunction
Why focus on Fructose? It looks like where everything went wrong. Watch this.

The Basics: Why Control Fructose?
In nature, fructose helps animals survive by conserving energy. But in today’s world of constant abundance, this survival mechanism stays switched on, laying a foundation for all metabolic conditions from depression and obesity right through to cancer and Alzheimer’s.
To be clear, fruit is not the problem. And this goes far beyond added sugar. Salty foods, alcohol, dehydration, and even obesity itself all trigger fructose production in the body. Indeed, the 3 attractive tastes (sweet, salty, savoury) all encourage intake of foods that generate fructose. Designed for scarcity, our biology is unprepared for the surplus of modern living.
Here is how it works. Fructose turns cellular energy (ATP) into uric acid, both draining energy and reducing generation of new energy. The body tries to solve low energy cells with cravings, and because your cells are in low-power mode, the food you eat is more likely to be stored as fat. Fructose seems intricately designed to help animals survive times of scarcity. Ironic, isn’t it?
The Simple Answer
While reducing sugar is a good idea, restrictive diets are often unsustainable and don’t address the body’s natural fructose production. Here is the key: Fructose drains your cells’ energy by using the enzyme fructokinase. Our products block this disposible enzyme, restoring cell function and energy.
With fructose metabolism solved, your body’s energy improves, cravings fade, and a healthy diet becomes natural, not forced. More importantly, you’re restoring your entire metabolic system, which reduces inflammation, improves mood and cognition, supports weight management, and enhances overall well-being.

Watch for these benefits
- Boosted energy levels
- Reduced cravings for sugar, carbs and alcohol
- Weight loss from improved utilization of glucose and fat
- Lower glucose and insulin levels
- Enhanced cellular and metabolic health
- Achieve a sustainable sugar-free lifestyle, no matter your diet
- Support in preventing and managing metabolic disorders
These are only a fraction of the benefits being reported by users of SugarShield. Admittedly, some of these benefits sound miraculous, so lets be clear on what is going on here. Increasing evidence points to fructose as the primary instigator of all metabolic illness, so if true, removing its ability to harm our cells should rightly show dramatic effect across every metabolic condition. The results reported simply give further confirmation to this thesis.

Fructose Control Kit: Restore a Lifetime of Damage
The longer our bodies endure exposure to Fructose, the more cumulative damage our cells face. It is critical to prevent further damage, but our real goal is not to stay at status quo, but to improve metabolic health. To do this, we must also address the unchecked cellular damage fructose has inflicted throughout our lifetime.
Our CellRepair formula is precisely designed to address the historical effects of Fructose: uric acid buildup, oxidative stress, and sluggish mitochondria.
Restoring our cellular health offers a glimpse of our youthful vitality. We don’t have to tell you how great that feels.

Fructose Uncovered: A Modern Tale
A summary of the recent discoveries in Fructose Function.
Fructose: Hero Turned Villain
Table sugar (aka sucrose) is made up of 50% glucose and 50% fructose. Unique among all sugars, Fructose has a strong negative effect on cellular health.
Upon entering the cell, Fructose drains our cellular batteries (converting ATP to AMP). Normally these batteries could be recharged, but fructose then destroys these by converting them into the waste product uric acid. This intracellular uric acid is likely the body's primary source oxidative stress. This stress results in suppression of mitochondria, crippling the cell’s ability to create new energy (ATP). All told, Fructose activates a perfectly designed system of ruining cellular energy.Â
Without cellular energy, our body assumes it is starving, and an emergency signal occurs. Appetite and energy conservation systems are activated which result in more exposure to Fructose. This begins a feedback loop of cellular energy suppression. As we continue to reduce cellular energy and increase appetite, we increasingly crave sugar until it resembles a full blown addiction to cellular poison.
Creating uric acid in cells, Fructose is like pouring sand in our low level machinery. By slowing cells down, the body can prioritize energy (fat) conservation.
Why does this happen? By reducing the cell’s ability to use or generate energy, it creates a state of energy conservation and storage. With cells in economy mode, and unable to use the energy from food, the body prioritizes energy storage of any excess. All signs point to Fructose initially aiding survival. By helping the animal gain weight, most improve their chances of survival during times of scarcity. This fits what we see in nature, as natural fructose sources (fruit, honey) are often ripest before the meagre times of winter. Without fructose, many species may not exist today.
Unfortunately, this past century has introduced humans to daily fructose exposure in far more bioavailable forms like sugar and HFCS, something nature never intended. Suppressing the performance of our cells over the long term results in a myriad of possible illnesses, unique to each individual. These often increase in severity the longer we are exposed.

The challenges of Fructose detoxification
You may be thinking, OK I need to cut sugar. You are on the right track. Unfortunately, our bodies also know how to make Fructose. Further confirming the thesis, each trigger for fructose synthesis appears to initially be a survival response. So reducing sugar isn’t enough. Far beyond just sugar, it turns out that fully detoxifying from Fructose requires an exceptionally restrictive diet that requires restrictions on all of the following foods.
As Fructose poisons our very cellular function, controlling fructose exposure could be the most effective way to enhance our health.

Luteolin: The simple way to control sugar
Luteolin is a natural flavone found in many fruits and vegetables. It was recently discovered to be a potent inhibitor of cellular Fructose metabolism. This stops both dietary and synthesized Fructose from entering our cells and inflicting harm.
“Luteolin is a flavone found in the leaves, barks and pollen of plants … we have observed that luteolin is a potent fructokinase inhibitor. “
Andres-Hernando, A., Li, N., Cicerchi, C. et al. Protective role of fructokinase blockade in the pathogenesis of acute kidney injury in mice. Nat Commun 8, 14181 (2017). https://doi.org/10.1038/ncomms14181
Is inhibiting the fructokinase enzyme safe?
fructokinase serves the single purpose of allowing fructose entry into cells. Thankfully, the body has other means of expelling it in urine. As such, the only side effect of inhibiting fructokinase is difficulty gaining weight — a problem most of us would love to have.
Luteolin’s Effect on Sugar Related Illness
Since Fructose causes cellular damage and Luteolin blocks it, it acts like an antidote to metabolic poison. After decades of attempts to relieve oxidative stress in cells, the power of relieving the source of stress is immense.
Improving cellular function has benefit for nearly all ailments. Not surprisingly then, research has found consistently positive results when testing Luteolin’s effect on metabolic disease. It shows strong potential in preventing and even treating every health condition linked to sugar. This supports the thesis that Fructose may be the root cause of metabolic ailments.

Luteolin vs. Semaglutide: A Comprehensive Comparison for Weight Loss and Metabolic Health
Luteolin offers a natural, restorative approach to metabolic health by addressing the root causes of insulin resistance and fructose-related damage, gradually restoring energy production and reducing fat accumulation. In contrast, semaglutide provides rapid weight loss by managing symptoms, but often requires ongoing use to maintain results.
Fructose: The Overlooked Key to Metabolic Health
Recent research reveals that fructose is a central driver of metabolic dysfunction, contributing to conditions like obesity, diabetes, and hypertension. While dietary changes can help, the body’s ability to produce its own fructose means that targeting its metabolism with natural inhibitors like Luteolin could offer a promising solution.

I’ve been taking Sugar Shield for about a year. When I forget to take it for a while I notice it almost immediately. I’ve come to realize it has had a direct beneficial effect to my overall health, especially blood sugar stability, inflammation, and even hormone balance. I’m so impressed to learn how much better I feel without making any extreme changes. I’m a fan for life!
I have noticed that when I take Sugar Sheild before mealtimes I eat way less at that meal and my craving for something sweet afterward is nonexistent. Next time I get my blood work done I am expecting some good results.
My name is Chris Austin. I’ve owned BodyCo Fitness for 25+ years in the same spot. Every now and then you meet a product that makes a HUGE difference in your client’s lives. I look back to the early days of Creatine and the difference it made in my young body-building clients, volumizing cells and allowing ATP to create more creatine phosphate (CP), and in turn give them more reps, more strength, and in turn more size.
This particular product, SugarShield is a very different product. It is the only product that I have used with clients that has consistently made a huge difference. I have a lot of nutritionally lazy clients, and don’t get me wrong, this is by choice. This is not something that I prescribe. I give them what they should be eating, tell them what they should do, and stresses of life and their own misconceptions of what matters to them leads them into eating things they shouldn’t eat.
One of those particular clients has been training with me 3X a week for a long time, making small and marginal changes. After adapting SugarShield into her nutrition, she has consistently moved 1 to 1.5 pounds per week. 8 weeks later this is a huge difference to her. She is very very happy, in fact she is eating right because she can feel and see the difference. She doesn’t feel like she is craving sugar or alcohol the way she was. Another client gave up alcohol all together after using the product for a month. And again, he is dropping a pound a week on the regular.
This is huge for them because these are clients that would otherwise not have made these particular gains. Other clients follow everything to a T: they have their 6 meals a day and they cut their starches after 1pm and everything works out for them for them the way it should because they’re doing their part. But if they’re not going to do their part, SugarShield makes it easy and thats it.
It’s a great product, its natural, I’ve seen no side effect to it aside from the taste of vinegar. That’s the only complaint I’ve heard. I think its a great product, and everyone should try it. I think it has many many uses, and we’re just beginning to see the difference it is making on things like blood sugar levels and the purity of energy in the body. I think it is going to be a game changer in our industry.
I’ve been taking it consistently for 2 months. I bulk through the winter. I put on 20 pounds during the winter, I lift heavy, short reps, I try to stay thick and strong, and then in the Spring I start to cut. So this year, I started taking SugarShield in January and now midway through February I’ve lost that outer layer of fat that I usually try to get rid of by March. So I’m excited to have more than 3 abs this year.
My hubby and I were introduced to SugarShield a few months ago and we have been taking it before we eat. After a few weeks, we’ve noticed an improvement in our digestion and a boost in our immune system. A big indicator was because in the last couple of weeks, we’ve been traveling on planes/trains and around lots of people thus prone to getting sick, but so far, our immune system has kept us healthy!
I also often crave a cocktail (or 2) by the end of the week, but I’ve noticed that those cravings have definitely subsided. And because of this, we eat healthier, are more motivated to exercise, and just have more energy overall. We just ordered the Fructose Control Kit because we’re curious to see how the CellRepair works in conjunction with SugarShield. All in all, we are very satisfied with this product!
I’m currently a 65-year-old woman, post-COVID (3x, the first in early 2020). Just after COVID #1, I was diagnosed with moderate-to-severe RA (rheumatoid arthritis). One year later, I was diagnosed with severe osteoporosis.
Since my 3rd and most recent bout of COVID (October 2023), I’ve had increasing difficulty maintaining energy throughout the day, as well as getting enough sleep. Additionally, since January 2024, I began putting on extra weight.
About 8 weeks ago, in an attempt to regain my former health/energy, I stopped eating/drinking anything with sugar or sweeteners in it. BAM! What a positive change to my weight and sleep! My energy level was extremely low, however, and I craved sweets. My doctor tested for diabetes and found I was prediabetic. My fasting blood glucose was around 120.
Enter Sugar Shield. After 4 weeks of taking one capsule daily, my fasting blood glucose is down to 85-90, my energy level is gradually improving and sleep is good. I can eat some healthy carbs (fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, as well as some sourdough bread), my weight is gradually lowering, and my former craving for sugary sweets is finally gone.
